One of the common issues with the MZR motor is the weak OEM VVT Actuator. These are known for going out and Mazda has revised the OEM VVT actuator to make it stronger and keep it from failing.
How can you tell if your VVT Actuator is failing?
You will hear a rattle on start up coming from the passenger side of the motor.
What's happening is the actuator can't hold oil pressure and therefore it can't take up the slack in the chain and allows it to hit the timing cover. This is the first sign that your VVT Actuator is going out and you will need to replace it quickly. If the car slips timing, pistons will meet valves and you will be left looking for a new motor.

Recommended to these guys through the MPS OC. Arrived within a week of ordering to the UK, was kept updated on the status of delivery the whole way through.. genuine mazda parts to the uk
This kit was going to cost me £540 from total mps, I paid $500 (including the $100 ups delivery). It then cost me another £51Cod when it got to my house. Still made a nice saving of £160 and it was at my door from the USA within 6days. Thanks edgeautosport I will defo be using you again and spreading your name.

Almost everything I needed!
This kit had nearly everything I needed to do the VVT job on my MS6. All the genuine parts were great. The only things that should have been included were 1. The camshaft bolt which is TTY and must be replaced. 2. No sealant for the timing cover was included. Grab those items, and you're good to go!

Excellent service to UK
Received friendly helpful advice on the phone. Order was placed online and delivered within 5 days to North East of England. Very reasonable shipping costs. Kit was fitted without a problem by local garage. If I had went to Mazda it would have cost at least twice as much. Superb.

Canada buyer, they are the best!
Shipping cost : I'm from Canada, so I asked for USPS shipping, they accepted but finally sent everything via DHL, was not that happy because I doubted that I will had to pay big fees. Finally, I only paid a 43$ fees (tax + dhl fees + brokerage) (they rate my package at 200$ that saved me a lot! Just to let you know it's more than 200$ of saving versus buying this kit from Mazda Canada even when you include dhl fees, tax, shipping and brokerage .... A+ Processing / shipping time : they take 4 working days to process my package (Oct 2 to Oct 8), but they shipped it express (without additional cost) and when shipped, I received it in just 2 days (Oct 10)!!! A+ Package : Include everything needed (except the timing tools and the blind bolt to find tdc). A side note for Canadien buyers, if you don't have the time tools, you can find one on ebay, it's the one that I used. Just search Massive Cam Timing Chain Alignment Tools MZR 2.3 Turbo DISI Mazdaspeed 3 6 CX-7. As Oct 19 2014 edge don't sell any, so I should not be a problem for them if you buy this one.

Added 263 HP once installed!
Chain was rubbing, so could not drive it. dead. Made the call. Overnight parts from Colorado, put it on Harry's Tab, lol. Seriously, I was in a pinch, needed next day, and got a living, breathing engine again. These guys rock so hard, they were an 80's hair band.

Uk Buyers, these are the guys to deal with.
Having spent weeks trying to get this kit in the UK with no luck what so ever. Mazda UK want £500 just for the actuator and all the other parts suppliers send out the wrong kit. i clicked on my item 2 days later it was with my mechanic. Excellent work guys.
