Get rid of your Mazda cartridge syle canister and use a much more conventional spin-on filter. Not only does this help with ease of oil changes but if you needed to add any oil gauges, this spin on kit is ready for a sandwhich plate adapter.

ms3 spin on filter kit
Great kit, with all the necessary parts!! Although, it was easy to install, there were no instructions. My only issue with no instructions were I had no torque specs for the adapter plate mount bolts or oil cooler mount bolt.

Oil changes with ease!
Before we had to drain the oil, drain the cartridge holder and find a way to get it off without bathing in oil or stripping the Allen screw. Now it's as easy as drain pan and spin. I'm fully bolted with a modded turbo wheel and will be purchasing the adapter plate for the pressure and temp gauges very soon. It's the only option without drillinformation or tapping and it's great. Easy install besides how sharp it was and 2 out of 5 difficulty if you have the right 1/4in drive universal and 10mm socket. Great stuff here.

Great product
Glad I finally put the conversion on. As has been mentioned before the top drivers side bolt is a bear to get out even with a 1/4" drive, but now that it's done, I'm thrilled with the convenience over the cartridge filter. Also I found that it was best to loosen the 15mm bolt from the top with multiple extensions on a ratchet. Happy modding!

the only mod you have to make
if you dont do anything with your 6/ms6/3/ms6/etc, then you need to make this mod. it can be a pain to install but once it's all said and done, you'll have no regrets.
