What it is
This is the genuine Ford OEM banjo bolt for the engine-side turbocharger coolant line on the Focus ST and other EcoBoost-equipped vehicles. It secures the banjo fitting where the coolant feed line connects at the engine block, allowing coolant to flow through its hollow center to the turbo and back.

Why you might need one
The engine-side banjo bolt sits in a high-heat area and is easy to overlook during turbo-related service. Coolant seeps at this fitting are common when the crush washers are reused or the bolt has been removed and reinstalled more than once. If you're pulling the turbo or tracing a coolant leak near the block, this is one of the first things worth inspecting. Using a genuine Ford part here means you're getting the correct thread pitch and material spec without having to guess at an aftermarket cross-reference.
Installation notes
Always replace the crush washers on both sides of the banjo fitting when reinstalling — reusing them is the most common reason this connection leaks after service. Torque to Ford's factory specification for your application. This bolt threads into the engine block, so take care not to over-tighten; damaged threads here are a much bigger problem than on the turbo side.
Common use cases
- Turbocharger removal and reinstallation
- Coolant leak diagnosis and repair at the engine-side turbo fitting
- Preventive replacement during a turbo seal, gasket, or coolant system service
