The oil filter housing gasket goes in between the outside of the cylinder block and the oil filter housing. This is a common replacement when repairing your oil cooler, oil filter housing, or a maintainence item at some point.

Works as intended
Believe it or not this Gasket can be used TWICE! Yes, Yes I know you shouldn't use a gasket twice I KNOW! However I've used this same gasket twice and i'm please to report there has been no oil leaks for over 2,000 miles on a new engine that was rebuilt from the ground up. I still have a spare just encase.
