Built for performance and show, the Typhoon® Air Intake System is a free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum tube induction system designed to fit many sport compact performance vehicles. Each kit is proven on a dynamometer to increase horsepower and torque. Typhoon intakes come in one of three designs; cold air intakes (CA), short ram intakes (SR), or complete cold air (CCA) intakes which can be configured as either a cold air intake or a short ram intake. Available in an assortment of powder coated colors and polished aluminum, these kits are sure to please in every way. They come with an oversized High-Flow conical air filter designed to provide increased surface area and dust capacity. This extra surface area provides even more airflow at lower restriction than a standard K&N O/E replacement filter that is limited to the size of the factory air box. The oversize air filter also captures more dirt increasing the service life before a cleaning is required (up to 100,000 miles). Some Typhoon Air Intakes are not legal for use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal.
K&N has developed a performance air intake system in powder coated silver for the 2007 Mazdaspeed 2.3 liter turbocharged engine. K&N dynamometer tests show a stout 25.68 increase in power that customers can feel when they accelerate. All K&N air intake systems are designed to increase filtering capacity and improve throttle response while providing excellent filtration.
As air passes the K&N air filter, it travels through the silver powder coated aluminum tube which is attached to the throttle body. Our K&N air intake filters are washable and reusable and can go up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is required. It is protected from engine heat by a powder coated heat shield. The placement of the K&N air intake system ensures a steady amount of outside air to the engine which translates into more power.
The system utilizes a CNC machined mass air sensor adaptor so the mass air sensor will work with the factory stock settings. This means there is no need for re-programming to run our air intake system.
It takes 90 minutes or less to install this K&N air intake system. It is backed by the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.
