Custom Performance Engineering, Inc. has chosen to think outside the box on this and come up with a completely new design. To do this, cp-e™ carefully studied the layout of the stock Focus ST rear motor mount. Immediately after removing the rear mount it was decided that a better design could be achieved.
The Ford Ecoboost engine mount system contains two side mounts that provide a rotational mounting point. The rear motor mount is added to help prevent the engine from swinging like a pendulum. However, the design of the stock mount orients the bushing horizontally; allowing applied stresses to act along two planes in the bushing. These types of bushings are not really meant for this and it has been found that the rear mount may be inadequate in preventing the engine from moving.
cp-e™ has come up with a way to apply stress to the bushing in only one plane. By redesigning the whole rear engine mount cp-e™ was able to mount the bushing vertically so that the pendulum effect of the engine is compressing the bushing properly. Orienting the bushing in a way that allows it to be compressed properly has allowed us to create a mount that provides a stiffer system while still using a low 65 durometer bushing.
cp-e™ goes a step further by using EPDM, a sort of rubber bushing. Urethane begins to fail at temperatures as low as 200°F and generally the bushings need a higher durometer rating to hold together. The Focus rear motor mount is a perfect example of when not to use urethane. The location of the mount allows a large amount of heat to be transferred to the bushing. EPDM holds up to this heat, and doesnÂ’t begin to break down and fail. EPDM has a higher density than urethane, so the bushing can have a lower durometer rating while keeping high reliability and support. Why is that good? Higher durometer ratings transfer vibrations through the vehicle and into the cabin, raising the NVH (noise, vibration, & harshness) value.
To give you these benefits, the two 17.1lbs blocks of aluminum are put in our CNC machine to be whittled down to only 2.17lbs. This process takes a lot of time but was necessary to provide the design necessary for the application.
Through initial testing our mount has shown to help hold the engine properly in place while providing a low durometer bushing in order to keep the in cabin vibrations low. It is to be expected that vibrations will be added in some points of the driving experience, but this effect comes solely from stiffening up the engine mounting system.

CP-E XFLEX REAR ENGINE MOUNT STAGE 2 FORD FOCUS ST 2013-2018
Instantly felt a huge difference once I drove the car after installing the part totally eliminated wheel hop highly recommend this product to other Focus owners

Good mount for a spirited daily, to a race car!
This replaced a Boomba that was falling apart, and I am happy to have this mount back! There is definitely more vibration if you tend to accelerate at the low end of the RPM range, but the benefits of no 1-2 bang and a much tighter feeling front end and snappier shifts completely outweigh it. It may also help you pinpoint and get rid of some rattles in your car! It's built extremely well and probably edging on overengineered, but it should last just about forever (just don't get oil on it!) Big jump in traction in place of wheel-hop. Another aftermarket part that is absolutely worth it. Thanks, Edge for the fast service!!

Should have done it earlier
If you're looking to un-domesticate your car, this is a great place to start. I should have done this day one. I can only speak for this mount but man does it feel like you have more control over the vehicle. Everything feels tighter and shifting is so much smoother. This, along with a short shifter plate really make the driving experience much better. Now, keep in mind that you'll feel more like youre right on the engine. I get a bunch more vibration, but I love it and I hear it calms down after a few hundred miles.

Grip and firm!
After the easy install of this product, I test drive the wheel hop and tightened feel made the ride so much better. I didn't really notice much vibration, I would recommend this to anyone. I'm a avid customer of CPE quality and reliability.

More gripp! No slip!
This mount just works, there's a very small amount NVH.

CP-E RMM
Excellent craftsmanship and design. A massive upgrade to the cheap stock parts. The result: How the vehicle should have come from the factory. Mild vibration at this point, but it is a fresh install and needs a few miles on the part to calm down. I recommend the CP-E RMM over the COBB, Boomba, or others. A better design for this specific part.

CP-E Stage 2 Rear Motor Mount
Having just installed the CP-E Stage 2 RMM, my initial impression is favorable. It certainly does what it is advertised to do. There is no more unwanted movement of the engine, however, do not underestimate the additional NVH. Hopefully, in the next 500 miles this will settle in. Overall, a small price to pay for the increased control.

Wow! Traction PARADIGM! '16 FoST-3
The xFlex rmm stage 2 is an absolute work of art, It's a shame that you have to hide it. Once the xFlex rear motor mount is installed-> game on; more NVH, absolutely but in exchange for tremendous increase in traction and responsiveness its worth every penny. The car feels 30+ whp stronger. Thanks Edgeautosport for the fast service and to CP-E for another incredibly well engineered product.

Huge Improvement
This mount did wonders to the car. Makes you feel more connected, eliminates wheel hop, and makes the car launch better.
