The heavy duty pressure plate features increased clamp load without increasing pedal pressure. The disk is made from an organic material with high metal content which increases its co-efficient of friction over the OEM disk. Pedal feel and engagement
I've been running this clutch for a little over a year and have put almost 17k on it. Installation was fairly easy with some help from my buddies and I've been enjoying it since then. The one thing I'm not too fond of though is that the clutch pedal is definitely quite heavier than the OEM clutch even though it's advertised as OEM-like pedal feel. It grabs hard and the bite point is fairly similar to OEM. It's just may be a little too heavy for daily driving for some people. Some days it feels like my knee is going to blow out because of it. Otherwise, I love this clutch. South Bend is a great company with amazing products and Edge Autosport is too. I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a great daily clutch that can hold up when you're putting some power down. Just be weary of the heavier feel of the pedal.

Solid upgrade
I have a 2010 Mazdaspeed 3, at 176K miles I was over due for an upgraded clutch. A clutch replacement is usually one of those parts that you choose by word of mouth. There is generally no ability for the consumer to try it before they buy it. I was lucky enough to have the pleasure being exposed to other clutch kits with friends that were on the same platform. That being said I knew what I did not want. I have only read good things about Southbend Clutch. It has not disappointed me at all. I'm impressed by the pedal feel, and engagement. It is very close to stock. It does not have a clicky feel with each pedal engagement. It is smooth. I only vaguely notice faint chatter when I back into my sloped driveway at low speeds. In forward gears the pedal feel is similar to how it felt when the car was brand new and the clutch wasn't broken in. So effort is slightly stiffer. The packaging and build quality is top notch. It's beautifully made. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase. I recommend Southbend clutch to anyone needing an upgrade.

Great so far for a daily driver replacement
Needed a replacement without the chatter I heard of, and not wanting to destroy my knees while shifting. Chose this, and am happy as can be. Very good product so far, and they have an online registration on their website, no card!
