DriveShaftShop has created a monster rear axle for the Mazdaspeed 6 capable of handling 500HP. This axle features our aerospace grade torsional axle bars, a proprietary direct fit outer CV and billet inner CV. The axles are complete and ready to install with no modifications required.

**This is a true bolt on axle that does not require any custom work or fabrication.  However, it might fit slightly different than the factory axle style due to design differences.  This is not a problem, rather a difference in design.

    Good preventative measure to have

I first ordered a DSS axle back in 2014 from edge, I received it quickly and installed it. As mentioned in the other review, the sway bar brackets will cut the boot if you do not install low profile brackets beforehand. My axle withstood 100's and 100's of launches and many days at the drag strip. I did, however, end up snapping it at the track in April of 2016. I have since ordered another one and received it very quickly again from them. If it can withstand around 2 years of abuse with me, it's a very good product to have.

Seems to work, slight fitment issue

Broke my axle and got this to replace it so I wouldn't have another problem. Not sure if it's a problem with the stock sway-bar, but if you have a larger one (eg whiteline), you will have to remove the bushing mount to slide the axle into the diff. Once it's in, there's just enough room to get that mount back on. I don't know if there was a way for DSS to beef up this axle without that problem, but I'm a little worried that sway-bar mount will chew through the rubber boot on the CV by the diff, because it rubs just a bit. Time will tell. Other than that, it's held up well to launches, and snaps right in place. I also appreciated that it came with a new wheel nut (the little things are what make installs go smoothly).
