Top mount intercoolers have become one of the most popular bolt-ons for the MZR DISIengines. cp-e™ set out to design the best. The cp-e Top Mount Intercooler Upgrade for the Mazdaspeed 3 and Mazdaspeed 6 is one of the best bang for the buck bolt on mods available. Cooler boosted air temps is one of the easiest ways to pick up power. The harder you work a turbo by pushing more boost, the hotter the temps will get. Being able to keep the temps down on your Mazdaspeed will allow you to run more boost more efficiently. cp-e uses a quality intercooler core for their top mount intercooler that maximizes the space available and also maximizes the potential gains on both stock turbo mazdaspeeds and big turbo mazdapseeds.
The biggest restriction of the stock TMIC is the outlet. Knowing this, cp-e™ alleviated these restrictions through a casting design with a smooth flowing unshrouded outlet. Both endtanksare completely cast to help flow in and out of the core while providing consistency. The core of the cp-e™ TMIC is made of bar and plate for its pressure efficiency and its cooling capabilities. The 3.25” thick core alleviates pressure drop while not interfering with the hood or surrounding components. cp-e™ determined the maximum fin density to create the largest temperature drop across the core. We have even capped every bolt hole location to prevent leaks that would normally go undetected by the consumer. The cp-e™ TMIC comes with 6061 billet CNC brackets machined to perfection on our 4 axis CNC machine.
The shroud for the cp-e upgraded top mount intercooler is CNC laser cut from billet 6061 aluminum to provide the best possible fitment. The mounting tabs for the shroud are CNC machined from 6061 billet so that they match the shroud exactly.

Great top mount
Great top mount works great and looks amazing! Ill go front mount later but this does what it needs to do for what I have.

Easy install
Very easy install, good potential gains while keeping stock-ish look. The turbo sound is a bit increased but at sounds nice, tho :)

maintain the stock look
Great fit/finish, and when I close the hood the car still looks stock. Definitely get if you're not looking for the type of power that requires the investment that goes with a QUALITY fmic

CPE quality on point
Top notch quality, was debating between this and and ETS top mount, glad i went with CPE tho saved me money and couldn't be happier, the car runs so much smoother and better need to ditch that stock one asap and if you wanna stay top mount CPE is the way to, and install was easy as pie.

Works almost better then a fmic!
So i got the cp-e tmic for my first gen mazdaspeed3. And it was some of the best money ive spent, there is literally no heat soak after driving, i pop the hood after doing pulls, stopping at red lights and just commuting around town, and the intercooler is never hot. I can rest my hand on it everytime, and at night the core is even cold after driving. Better throttle response, it seems like my third gear is braking the tires loose now. I highly recommend this product, took about 30mins to install its easy and worth it

Amazing Product
This intercooler is a complete BEAST! It is a great replacement for the TMIC if you don't want to go FMIC and block the radiator, or you want to keep it as stock as possible. Of course, a good tune is required to run this intercooler. The air increase in ridiculously high. Recommend you also get Fuel Pump Internals, to help fuel keep up with it. Heat soak is only a small problem compared to the horrible stock TMIC, but once you get moving, it dissipates rather quickly. It is a big, heavy unit, but worth it.

Great Value!
My turbo lag is kept to a bare minimum with the short runs of the stock TMIC. Heatsoak yeah, but nothing is free. This intercooler weighs I'd wager 5x the stock unit, all cooling heatsink. Good value!
